Make sure to survey your customer base from time to time to get an honest perspective of where you’re killing it, and (MORE IMPORTANTLY), where you’re falling down.
Ask people you trust for their honest opinions. Then grin and bear it. ABSOLUTELY NO DEFENDING YOURSELF. No one likes getting reprimanded for their feedback. Snap back at them, and they’ll never give you an honest opinion again.
Try leveraging one of the many online survey services, like www.SurveyMonkey.com, to create a Customer Satisfaction eSurvey. Just don’t make your survey too long. Ten questions, tops. And if you can, throw them a Starbucks gift card for their time. The least you can do is buy ‘em a cup of coffee.
